Business Advisers Full Time, Fixed Term Contract to 30 June 2018

Business SA is South Australia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry and peak employer body. We are also the leading advocacy organisation for the State's business sector.

Business SA is looking to appoint four dynamic and motivated Business Advisers to promote and deliver services to SMEs within a Government funded program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide business review services utilising agreed diagnostic tools to eligible SMEs of a government funded program.
  • Analyse and evaluate the findings of diagnostics for each client and document the findings in a report, including recommendations.
  • Report back to the client firms on the outcome of the business review, and as appropriate, discuss potential solution providers.
  • Assist client firms to locate and engage providers of Business Growth Grants. 
  • Assist in the promotion and networking of the program to potential clients, industry organisations, professionals and other business networks (i.e. accountants, lawyers, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of promotional material, including case studies, based on SMEs who have participated in the program.
  • Build links with industry networks and forums within the designated region to assist SMEs to improve their business performance.
  • Identify and engage eligible companies to participate in the program.
  • Manage the quality of tools, materials and communications used in all Consulting work and ensure it is of a high standard.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential Selection Criteria

Advisers should have the following skills, experience and expertise:

  • Senior level, typically 10 years, experience in business management, operational management or consulting.
  • Excellent report-writing skills including the ability to communicate complex information to non-specialists in a clear and succinct way.
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyse financial statements.
  • Demonstrated experience (or the ability to transfer relevant skills) to undertake and manage the delivery of services to businesses within a Government programme.
  • Advanced stakeholder, relationship and client management and engagement skills and experience.
  • Strong business analysis and systems analysis skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, representation, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to use clear, concise language in correspondence as well as including content appropriate for the purpose and audience when preparing written briefs and reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development and actively building, maintaining and managing a pipeline of customers.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes, and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Respect for, and sensitivity to, the diversity of the Australian public when delivering services.


Desirable Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
