Do you need any additional staff, short or long term, at no cost to your business?
If this is the case Business SA may be able to help you. There are many people who have suffered an injury at work and cannot return to their pre injury employer. Are you willing to host a placement, short or long term, full time or part time, for one or more of these workers?

Some questions may spring to mind such as why should I do this, what does it achieve, how does it work, what do I get out of this?

What is the benefit of hosting a placement for an injured worker?
- Free worker for a specified period of time
- Increased productivity in your business at no cost
- Could lead to employment on a full time paid basis in some cases
- If full time paid placement results, you may be entitled to financial assistance from WorkCover through the RISE scheme up to 40% of the worker’s wages for 12 months. Importantly, if a worker should aggravate their pre-existing condition, then the claim will be recorded against the employer where the injury occurred not against you
- Worker could bring new skills and ideas into your workplace
- Sends a message to your existing workforce on your attitude and philosophy on assisting injured workers to return to work.

How does it work?
- Business SA has a database of workers seeking short and long term placements
- Business SA can match the worker’s abilities to the skills and needs of your business
- You state your requirements, such as length of placement (including full time or part time) and skills required
- Business SA will arrange for a Rehabilitation Consultant to contact you to arrange a meeting with the injured worker. This will enable you and the worker to assess whether this placement will be a “fit” for your business
