WorkCover SA has established a Return to Work Fund to implement initiatives that contribute to the improved return of injured workers to work.
Business SA successfully tendered and has obtained funding for: Improving Return to Work Outcomes for Small Employers & Work Hardening (Help someone return to work and we’ll return the favour)
In addition to the above, Business SA offers small business owners a free Workers Compensation Representation Service and can represent employers in the SA Workers Compensation Tribunal.
Improving Return to Work Outcomes for Small Employers:
Small employers are often the least well equipped to support the return to work process and they often face greater challenges during the rehabilitation and return to work process.
Understanding this, our experienced senior injury management consultants can visit your workplace and provide advice and assistance on any injury management issues including:
- Review of existing claims and provide advice
- Assist in the effective return to work of your injured workers.
- Policies & Procedures
- How to better facilitate timely and effective return to work of injured workers
- Injury Management issues in general
- Understand your pivotal role in the return to work process
- How to minimise barriers that may discourage injured employees from returning to work.
The only criteria, is that your business employs no more than 30 employees and this offer is open to members and non-members until 30/12/2011.
Help Someone Return to Work and We’ll Return the Favour:
There are many people who have sustained an injury at work and cannot return to their preinjury duties or in some case their preinjury employer. If you are willing to assist by being a host placement employer and provide placements to injured workers, then the benefits are well worth your while, such as:
- Increased productivity at no cost – free worker?
- No cost to your organisation
- Could lead to employment (financial assistance & rebate of 40% wages for 12mths)
- Short or longterm placements
- If a worker aggravates their condition, no liability against you or impact upon your levies
- Introduction of new skills and ideas into the workplace
- Demonstrates commitment to your workforce
- Direct control & flexibility, tell us what you want and we deliver
No criteria applies.
Free Workers Compensation Representation Service:
Many small businesses are hesitant to dispute Workers Compensation decisions due to the associated costs and lack of understanding of their rights to be heard. We offer any South Australian small business the opportunity to access this free Workers Compensation Representation Service and will enable us to represent you at the Workers Compensation Tribunal in relation to disputes lodged by either:
- The worker, in which the employer wishes to be involved
- On behalf of the employer against a decision made by the claims agent
Areas of dispute may include the acceptance or rejection of a claim, the rate of average weekly earnings, application for decisions to be expedited, lump sum payments and any other determinations that are reviewable.
Criteria: No more than 100 employees and depends on the merits of the case.
For more information, or to register for any of the above free initiatives, contact Business SA to talk to one of our Senior Injury Management Consultants.
