Overview:

This nationally recognised qualification is designed to reflect the role of entry-level employees who perform routine duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, preparation of trial balance, bookkeeping and preparation of financial reports.

Recommended for: 

This nationally recognised qualification is designed for those wanting to kick-start their career in the finance industry or are already employed in the financial services industry, but do not have any formal qualifications.

Units include:

To achieve this certificate, 11 units of competency must be achieved (7 core and 4 electives)

Core units

  • FNSINC301A - Work effectively in the financial services industry
  • BSBWOR204A - Use business technology
  • BSBWRT301A - Write simple documents
  • FNSACC303A - Perform financial calculations
  • FNSACC301A - Process financial transactions and extract interim reports
  • FNSACC302A - Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers
  • BSBOHS303B - Contribute to OHS hazard identification and risk assessment.

  • BSBDIV301A Work effectively with diversity
  • FNSACC406A Set up a computerised accounting system
  • FNSBKG405A Establish and maintain a payroll system.


Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this qualification, participants will be able to:

  • File, check and process financial data entry and process accounts payable/accounts receivable
  • Provide customer service in financial transactions
  • Assist in processing payroll
  • Conduct front line cashiering and bank account maintenance
  • Assist with entering transaction data to ledgers and maintaining a general ledger
  • Process purchases and sales including EFT/e-business
  • Produce GST reports.


Government Funding

Just by training your staff on the job, you may be eligible to receive a Government incentive of up to $4,000 per trainee towards the cost of a nationally recognised qualification. To enquire about Government funding, please complete the Eligibility Questionnaire.
