TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assesment
Th TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the new standard in becoming a qualified trainer.
Our course teaches the essential training and assessment activities – including how to design and develop learning programs, how to use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs, how to plan, organise and deliver group-based learning, how to facilitate learning in the workplace, and how to create, implement and manage assessment activities and processes.
Overview:
This nationally recognised certificate is the current industry benchmark for anyone responsible for competency-based training program design, development, delivery and assessment in the national Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
Recommended for:
- Achievement of this qualification or an equivalent by trainers and assessors is a requirement of the Australian Quality Training Framework Essential Standards for Registration
- This qualification is also suitable preparation for anyone engaged in the delivery of training and assessment in a workplace context
Content:
To achieve this certificate, ten units of competency must be successfully completed, including
Seven core units:
- TAEASS401B - Plan assessment activities and processes
- TAEASS402B - Assess competence
- TAEASS403B - Participate in assessment validation
- TAEDEL401A - Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning
- TAEDEL402A - Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace
- TAEDES401A - Design and develop learning programs
- TAEDES402A - Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs
Business SA recommends the following three electives:
- TAEASS301B - Contribute to assessment
- TAEDEL301A - Provide work skill instruction
- TAEDEL404A - Mentor in the workplace
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL is available to participants who can demonstrate competence in any of the units within our nationally accredited courses. RPL is the acknowledgement of skills and knowledge acquired or learned through formal training, work and life experience.

Government Funding
Just by training your staff on the job, you may be eligible to receive a Government incentive of up to $4,000 per trainee towards the cost of a nationally recognised qualification. To enquire about Government funding, please complete the Eligibility Questionnaire.
