President

Vincent Tremaine

Vincent is the Chief Executive Officer of Australia’s largest private port operator; Flinders Ports Pty Ltd. Flinders Ports owns the seven South Australian ports of Adelaide, Thevenard, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Wallaroo, Klein Point and Giles. He is a director of Adelaide Container Terminal Pty Ltd and Spencer Gulf Port Link Pty Ltd.

Vincent’s career has included roles in finance, accounting, sales and marketing across the manufacturing, printing, publishing and advertising industries before entering the infrastructure and transport sector via the Port of Geelong Authority in 1989.

He is the Deputy President of Ports Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and until recently, was the Chairman of the South Australian Freight Council.

Vincent is a keen endurance athlete, competing in Ironman triathlons, is the President of the West Lakes Triathlon Club and is a Life Member of Victoria’s Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club.

Deputy President

Peter Siebels

Peter Siebels joined the Business SA Board in November 2007. He is a taxation specialist and is the National Managing Partner of Private Enterprises for KPMG Australia and also serves on the National Board of KPMG. Peter is past State Chairman of the Taxation Institute of Australia’s South Australian State Council and is a director of the RAA and the State Theatre Company.

Dr Nick Begakis AM

Nick has a degree in Electronic Engineering and over 35 years experience in business in a range of areas including manufacturing industries (in senior management roles and as an entrepreneur), venture capital, merchant banking, corporate recovery roles and as a professional company director.

He has an interest and involvement in organisations focusing on generating economic activity (particularly through small to medium enterprise, entrepreneurship and exports) to generate prosperity for all South Australians. He is also involved with community groups that assist those less fortunate.

Nick is part owner of a nationally distributed confectionery manufacturing company based in Adelaide’s northern suburbs with manufacturing interests in Asia and the Americas. He is a Fellow of the AICD and has been Deputy President of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) in South Australia.

He has been Deputy President of the Australia Day Council, served two terms on the Environment Protection Authority (SA) and three terms on Flinders University Council. Nick is Chairman of CITCSA, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation and of Statewide Superannuation Trust and represents South Australia’s interests as a Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). On Australia Day 2000, he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his ‘services to business and export development … and to the community’. In April 2012 he was Awarded Doctor of the University, honoris causa, DUniv Flin.

Tony DavisonTony Davison

Tony Davison has had over 25 years experience in the television industry.  He started out in Melbourne where he represented SAS10 Adelaide, TVW7 Perth and ATN7 Sydney and with the advent of networking in 1988, became Group Sales Manager for the Seven Network in Melbourne, looking after network business within the Melbourne market.

In 1997 Tony was promoted to the position of Adelaide Sales Director for Seven Network (Operations) Limited.

In 2003 Tony was appointed General Manager of Channel Seven Adelaide.  He is married to Anna and they have three daughters.

Jane Kittel

Jane Kittel

Jane Kittel has been Managing Director of BankSA since October, 2010.

Prior to this appointment she was Westpac’s General Manager of Pacific Banking with responsibility for seven countries – Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Tonga, Solomon Islands and Samoa.

Jane began her career in the financial services industry in 1986 with AMP, and joined Westpac in 1995 where she held a range of leadership positions.

She serves as Chair of The Big Issue Advisory Board in SA, Director on the Catherine House Board, Chair of the MBA Advisory Board, University of South Australia and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Jane has previously served as a Director on the Boards of Cash Services Australia, Westpac Bank-PNG-Limited, Westpac Bank of Tonga and Westpac Bank Samoa Limited.

She completed a Bachelor of Management in Employee Relations at the University of South Australia in 1998, and a Bachelor of Teaching in Adult Vocational Education at the University of Technology, Sydney in 1995.
 

June Roache

June Roache has been Chief Executive Officer of SA Lotteries since March 1995.

Prior to this appointment she was Chief of Staff for a Cabinet Minister and a Senior Executive with the South Australian TAB.

June is Chairman of the Asia Pacific Lottery Association and is the Asia Pacific representative on the World Lottery Association Executive Committee.

She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management and a Certified Practicing Accountant. 

She has previously served as a Board Member of Calvary Hospital Adelaide, Invicta Services, SA Great, SA CFS Training & Research Foundation, UniFund SA Scholarships Committee, South Australian Financing Authority (Deputy Member), Gift for Dreams Foundation and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees, Flinders Medical Centre Foundation.

Guy Roberts

Guy is the Managing Director and CEO of Penrice, Australia’s sole manufacturer and major exporter of soda chemicals and a large regional limestone mine operator.  Returning to Adelaide from Melbourne to assume this role in 2007, Guy joined Penrice after more than 15 years with Orica Limited where he held a number of senior executive positions in chemicals, plastics and paints businesses in Australia, New Zealand, United States and the United Kingdom.

A former barrister and solicitor with Minter Ellison and also Orica, Guy undertook his legal training at the University of Adelaide, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Guy has a keen interest in supporting policy development that promotes and grows South Australian businesses in a sustainable manner and with the ability to compete both nationally and internationally. He is currently a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) SA, a Director of the National Lime Association of Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Guy is actively involved in supporting the arts as a Board Director for the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation and is keenly involved in coaching junior sports (football and cricket) as help skill development for SA’s youth.

Ian Stirling

Ian has been part of the electricity industry since 1982 with extensive experience in senior management positions in all sectors including generation, transmission and distribution.

Appointed as CEO of ElectraNet in August 2002, Ian previously held a number of executive positions within the company.

Prior to joining ElectraNet in 1999, Ian was CFO at GPU PowerNet Pty Ltd.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Accounting and Law and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.  Ian attended the Advanced Management Program at the Graduate School of Management, University of Melbourne (Melbourne Business School). Ian is also an Associate of Templeton College, Oxford and a member of the Institute of Company Directors.

He is a Director of the Electricity Supply Association of Australia, a Director of Business SA (The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in SA), a Director of CEDA and is President of the Advisory Board, SA Chapter of CEDA.

Mike Terlet, AO

Mike is the Chairman of Land Management Corporation.

From 1978 to 1992 he was responsible for the formation and growth of the largest private sector Defence and Aerospace company in Australia.

He was made an officer of the General Order of Australia for contributions to industry and export in 1991. In 1992 he retired as Managing Director and has since undertaken a number of directorships in both public and private companies.

He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and the Institute of Directors in Australia. Mike also has roles as a Justice of the Quorum and an Officer in General Order of Australia.

Mike has served as President of the South Australian Employers Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Engineering Employers Association and is currently Chairman and Director of a number of public and private companies.
