Women of the World to kick off in style

Business SA has another big line-up of Women of the World events for 2011 and the action kicks off on Wednesday 13 April at the National Wine Centre of Australia.

In what is set to be another popular series, the Women of the World events provide the opportunity for South Australian business women to network, develop skills, gain knowledge and inspiration from other like-minded successful women.

The focus of the 2011 series is to provide women in every industry with the opportunity to hear from some of South Australia’s most successful business women who are willing to share their journey to success, how they deal with work/life balance and their roles within the industry.

First event of the year- Be inspired to “Release your Inner Goddess”.

Melody Horril ImageJoin nationally renowned eyebrow queen Meisha Wright and leading Adelaide fashion designer and stylist Lucy MacGill as Channel 7’s Melody Horrill delves into their lives to reveal their top business tips and how they took their business ventures to the next level. Meisha and Lucy will share with our savvy business ladies a few tricks of the trade for this season to inspire you and your wardrobe!

Lucy MacGill pictureLucy MacGill definitely has a passion for fashion, creating her own fashion accessory label, AngelWings. AngelWings’ first release was the Winter 09 collection in February 2009.

With over 20 years experience in the Australian fashion market, Lucy has an eye for catching new trends and has an intuitive understanding of what retails well in Australia.

In her formative years with Sportsgirl, Lucy developed visual merchandising strategies and tactical direction for the Sportsgirl chain nationally. Her experiences lead her to a seven year tenure with Marcs where she established the wholesale business from start-up to an annual turnover of more than $10 million.

Meisha Wright ImageMeisha Wright’s initial pursuit of her artistic ability began in the makeup industry with Laura Mercier. During this time, she developed a reputation for her ability to enhance facial features by sculpting perfect eyebrows. At this point, Meisha realised it was time to capitalise on her talent and venture out on her own. Flying between Adelaide and Sydney, her reputation continued to grow and soon Estee Lauder approached her to establish The Brow Bar. Since this time Meisha has teamed up with Lucy to develop fashion website - Its The New Black and continues to shape eyebrows from her studio at Kent Town.

By attending one of our four Women of the World events this year, you will have the chance to win an $8,000 diamond ring, kindly donated by Martin Rogers Jewellers. Each time you attend a Women of the World event this year you gain an extra entry in the draw.
