In May, Business SA welcomed Arthritis SA who hosted their 2011 Education Update on Arthritis Pain Management for Health Professionals.
The seminar, titled “Arthritis: What a Pain”, drew a large audience of over 100 attendees and included Podiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Aged Care Workers.
Attendees on the day enjoyed informative presentations from Rheumatologists, Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists and Occupational Therapists along with an arthritis sufferer speaking on her life’s journey.
With discussions on pain management, early mobilization, inflammatory arthritis, medications, along with a closing presentation from Arthritis SA Deputy CEO Jenny Bennett, the event consisted of a jam-packed, full day program.
The most memorable of all was the incredibly touching presentation by Colette Smith on “A Patients Journey”which delved into pain, heartache and the struggles of an arthritis sufferer.
One of the sponsors of the 2011 Education Update was Mobility Vehicle Sales who displayed their Toyota Porte-Side access vehicle (pictured) and conducted onsite demonstrations of the electric passenger side sliding door.
This was another example of the very successful events held at Business SA Function Centre and Arthritis SA staff stated that they are looking forward to returning and doing it all again next year.
