2011 South Australian Training Awards
The winner of the Business SA Vocational Student of the Year was Vanessa Corbell (pictured above).
Ms Corbell told Messenger Newspaper of her excitement at winning the award. "It's such an amazing honour." she said. "I never thought anyone would even nominate me, let alone actually winning it."
"I come to work and do my hobby so I'm extremely lucky in that respect," Ms Corbell said. "I just love it."
"I love dealing with brides, working out what they want and creating that for them,"she said.
"But in the last year or so I have been involved in competitions and I love that design process, coming up with a concept from scratch and creating it."
After receiving this training award, Vanessa went on to win the ‘National Interflora Florist of the Future’ competition.
Ms Corbett, said she hopes her Business SA award will inspire others to make their passion their occupation.
