State Government Reducing Liquor Licensing Fees
The State Government has announced they will be reducing liquor licensing fees across most categories, after receiving feedback from industry.
This includes reducing most of the loadings for venues trading past 2.00am and 4.00am. The only fees to remain unchanged are those that apply for large venues trading after 4.00am.
If the new fee system is still not manageable for licenses, the State Government will considering reviewing them again next year.
In addition, the State Government is considering developing a new class of small bar licence, with proposals and discussions with the community to soon be scheduled.
The State Government had already sent licensees notices with the original pricing of fees, but not invoices. They will now reissue notices and invoices with the amended fees.
The date for payment of the new fees for the 2012-2013 financial year will be 31 December 2012, to give licensees time to adjust to the changes.
