Creating a sustainable South Australia
Environmental issues at the state and national level present both a challenge and an opportunity to the South Australian business community and it is in this regard that Business SA’s A Greenprint For The Future has been developed. We believe it is possible for South Australia to have a vibrant society and strong economic growth that is not detrimental to the environment. This society will have a low carbon footprint, use energy and water efficiently and reuse many of the resources it consumes.
We recognise that there are substantial marketing opportunities for South Australian businesses, in both domestic and overseas markets, through the promotion of South Australia as a producer of ‘clean’ goods and services. Business SA also believes that the clean environment that South Australia has to offer both business operators and their families is an important investment attraction to the state.
This publication provides discussion and recommendations on a number of key environmental issues that are vital to the economic future of South Australia and the businesses that operate within the state.
Please provide any feedback you have on the Greenprint and the recommendations that it contains.
