The South Australian Business Chamber requires workplace double dose

Monday, 22 November 2021

In advance of South Australia’s borders reopening tomorrow, the South Australian Business Chamber Chief Executive Martin Haese advises that the South Australian Business Chamber will require two doses of the COVID-19 for everyone attending their premises on Greenhill Road.

In line with the growing number of prominent South Australian event venues requiring that all attendees are double vaccinated against COVID-19, the South Australian Business Chamber has taken the same position for its own workplace.

The requirement to be double vaccinated to be on-site includes our employees, mentors, facilitators, board members, visitors and the public.

From tomorrow, any attendees at a the South Australian Business Chamber event, training program, meeting, information or networking session, either at the South Australian Business Chamber or at any external location, must have had two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Attendees with a SA Health approved medical exemption will be able to attend any of our offerings by producing a negative COVID-19 test valid for 72 hours.

We are intent on protecting the South Australian Business Chamber’s staff, so fully vaccinated team members can only attend an off-site event, training program, meeting, information or networking session if the individuals present are also fully vaccinated.

Also, all suppliers, service providers and commercial tenants must have two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to enter our building from 23 November 2021.
We take our responsibility under the Work Health Safety Act very seriously. We have a clear obligation and duty of care to those who join the South Australian Business Chamber community through work, events and networking.

Whilst we respect the rights of the individual to choose and value all our employees, those unvaccinated will be working from home and going about their daily business mostly online.

All through this pandemic period, businesses have looked to the South Australian Business Chamber for guidance and support and any threat to our business continuity is not an option. This is not an easy topic to consider and there are many opinions. The South Australian Business Chamber continues to be proactive in this next stage as we face the inevitable entry of COVID-19 into our community.

The South Australian Business Chamber acknowledges this is a dynamic situation and we will be vigilant in updating this policy as the situation changes.

With the release of the COVID-19 risk assessment and management guidance from SA Health, I want to remind businesses that the South Australian Business Chamber’s Business Advice Hotline is available for all members who need assistance working through the multiple scenarios.

This is a complex and nuanced process, and we are here to help navigate each businesses individual circumstances.

Ultimately, the South Australian Business Chamber encourages all South Australians to get the COVID-19 vaccination. This is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones.” The South Australian Business Chamber Business Advice Hotline is available at 8300 0000.
