Young Entrepreneur's Web of Success

It is not every day that you transition from producing the newspaper to being in the newspaper. But this is just what this young regional entrepreneur and former Transcontinental employee has done — introducing Amber Chennells-Webb, founder of Webb Software in Port Augusta. This unique business offers multiple services to its clients to make it a one-stop-shop’ for the busy business owner.

This is one of the many ideas that Amber credits to her time in the South Australian Business Chamber South Australian Young Entrepreneur Scheme (SAYES).

The South Australian Business Chamber Executive Director, Employer Solutions and Programs Jenny Briggs reminds us that SAYES’ is all about saying yes.

We want South Australia’s young entrepreneurs to give their business ideas a real go, especially those in the regions.

This is the third year that we’re able to offer the SAYES program to regional participants. There are so many amazing regional ideas and business owners, and they really benefit from a dedicated regional program.

We are calling for our next round of graduates for the 2022 SAYES regional program. Are you keen to join the likes of Amber in realising your dreams?”

Webb Software Founder Amber Chennells-Webb gained a lot of knowledge and resources from the program.

I’ve been in management roles for most of my working career. The SAYES regional program taught me more in six months than I had learned in the last ten years. There are a lot of basic things that you don’t know you need to set up for your business, and I can see now why some people stagnate rather than progress forward.

I’ve spent the last two years working on developing my business using the tools provided with this program to provide our clients and employees with a better offering. I still find myself reaching for the book of information that SAYES provided us!

I made some fantastic friends in this program too. We keep in touch still, and I’m even still in contact with some of the mentors.

Sometimes the regions don’t get as many opportunities or resources so it was great to have this program just for us.”

The South Australian Business Chamber SAYES regional program commences 28 March 2022 and will include 11 workshops in Adelaide over seven months . Successful applicants will have their travel expenses and accommodation requirements covered as part of the generous support from the Department for Innovation and Skills and the South Australian Business Chamber.
