Grants for small and medium-sized businesses of up to $25,000 are now available to replace or upgrade existing equipment to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.

The grants, funded by the Commonwealth government form part of a greater $62 million program designed to help SMEs lower energy bills.

Intended to support businesses upgrade or replace inefficient equipment to improve their energy efficiency, these upgrades will enable industries to reduce their energy use and manage energy cost volatility in the long term.

Available to businesses in all sectors with a headcount between 1 and 199 employees who are entities incorporated in Australia, partnerships or sole traders, grants will be awarded to eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis until the funding is exhausted.

Recent results in the South Australian Business Chamber, William Buck Survey of Business Expectations for the December quarter found 81 per cent of South Australian businesses had electricity cost increases of up to 29% in the last 12 months.

We encourage small to medium-sized South Australian businesses to investigate how these grants can benefit their organisation.
