Leading Therapies is a family business that provides multi-disciplinary Allied Health services, accessible through a range of funding sources, in people’s homes and in their clinic at St Peters.
Their services include Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Podiatry, Dietetics, and Exercise Science. The business specialises in providing support for older adults, people with disability, and people with complex health needs.

Tim Brunt is the Operations Manager of Leading Therapies and he explained that the business has faced some challenging circumstances in recent times due to business expansion and a move to new premises.
‘As an Allied Health service provider, we’ve had to navigate some tricky business conditions with the COVID-19 situation, and at the same time, we’ve broadened our business offering and we’ve moved to larger premises, resulting in additional costs for the business’.
‘We were under a bit of pressure, navigating a host of different challenges all at once, and we knew that we needed some external support and advice to help us through’.
Tim engaged with Business SA’s Business Growth Consulting service.
‘I’d been to a Business Accelerator Program workshop presented by Dave Walker, and I spoke to him separately about the prospect of taking us on as a client’.
‘First up, we underwent a detailed discovery process with Dave to identify areas where we could improve. He helped us to focus our thinking, and to formulate and implement strategies to achieve business efficiencies’.
Tim explained that taking some ‘time out’ to focus on the direction of the business has been instrumental.
‘Just prioritising and scheduling time for consultation with Dave has been beneficial. He’s a knowledgeable and experienced business leader and we’ve really appreciated him being our ‘sounding board’. He’s galvanised our thoughts and provided the impetus for honest discussions that we wouldn’t have otherwise had’.
‘I think that Dave’s advice will pay for itself many times over. The process provides the space and expertise required to have in-depth discussions that ultimately provide clarity, cohesion, and strategy for the team, which is invaluable.’
