Early return to work for injured workers
WorkCover has approved Business SA commencing an exciting new project to assist in the early return to work of injured workers.
Business SA will assist both employers and workers to source appropriate work hardening placements that will enable injured workers to return to work with another employer for a short period to assist them to become ready to return to work with their pre injury employer.
What are the benefits to employers and workers?
As an employer you will be assisting an injured worker to return to work with a short term work hardening placement that will allow the injured worker to build on their existing capacity for work, possibly learning new skills, to enable them to make a quicker and safer return to their previous occupation.
In accepting an injured worker for a work placement, an employer will gain another employee at no cost to their business from a salary perspective and also with no risk to their own WorkCover levies. The injured worker may provide new skills and ideas to your company.
With this concept, injured workers who may not be fit to return to their pre injury employment will be able to remain in employment whilst recovering and ensure that they can maximise a safe recovery in a timely manner.
Business SA is seeking work hardening placements from any employer who is willing to participate in this opportunity to assist an injured worker to return to work.
In exchange you will acquire a person, who is keen not only to return to work and possibly learn new skills, but also someone who will contribute to your business needs with no cost to your business.
Business SA is seeking expressions of interest from employers who are interested in participating in this project. Its experienced Senior Injury Management Consultants will provide ongoing support throughout the work placement.
