Business SA is pleased to once again introduce its popular conference aimed at improving occupational health, safety, environmental and injury management in the workplace.
Business SA will present the Employers Mutual Changes and Challenges conference on Thursday 6 May at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Dr Bill Griggs AM ASM, Director of Trauma Service at Royal Adelaide Hospital, will provide the keynote speech and compare the need for accurate information in disaster management to that needed in business.
The conference, sponsored by Employers Mutual, includes a tailor made program of practical workshops designed to keep businesses up-to-date with the latest in workplace safety, injury management, environment and sustainability. A wide range of companies (including Business SA) will be exhibiting their products and services.
Business SA Chief Executive Officer, Peter Vaughan, said that the conference was an ideal opportunity for business owners and OHS representatives to further understand key issues in the workplace.
“Achieving outstanding safety and environmental performance is fundamental to business success,” Mr Vaughan said.
“This is South Australia’s premier workplace safety, environment and injury management conference providing a comprehensive insight to the latest industry trends and standards.
“Establishing the latest workplace systems will make for a safer environment with fewer accidents, saving money and increasing productivity and morale, while also meeting legislative responsibilities.
“It is essential that businesses determine the most effective way to implement management practices in the workplace and participants will be able to learn about these important subjects from businesses in the OHS, injury management and environment field.”
Attendees can choose from 29 practical workshops, covering topics such as bullying and harassment at work, right of union entry, when OHS inspectors call, how the emissions trading scheme will affect business and creating mentally healthy workplaces.
Various other issues will be covered throughout the day in the areas of environment, injury management and occupational health and safety.
