Cadillac Printing was recently awarded certification for their environment management systems to both international standards (ISO14001:2004) and the Printing Industries SGP Level 3.
This was achieved through assistance from both Zero Waste SA and Business SA’s Senior Environmental & Sustainability Consultant, Brett Miller.
Trevor Stone (pictured, right with Brett Miller), Cadillac Printing’s Plant Manager, provides an insight into why Cadillac decided to become certified, and how this was achieved so successfully.
“Certification was an important step for our business as a basis to reduce environmental risk, minimise the significant costs associated with our waste streams, and to create a competitive advantage for our brand,” Mr Stone said.
“Brett gave us excellent training, support and made the ISO 14001 path easier to grasp and comprehend.
“The benefits of the investment have already been substantial, from cost reduction through to risk identifications to protect the business and the environment.
“Our environment management systems will be the major driver for our company to maintain and improve our environmental policies and procedures.”
