What major challenges do you face in your industry today?
The challenge is to provide cost effective material handling solutions that meets the needs of the progress within industries. ROI’s play a significant role in the development of our products, as our clients are looking at technology to deliver cost effective solutions to their operations.. The challenge remains the security of cash and materials and efficient ways for delivery of these goods with minimal exposure to humans.

What changes and new trends are you seeing in the industries that you deal with?
We are seeing a move away from more traditional methods of material handling and the industry is demanding electronic methods along with robotic technology. Moving containers of medicine, laundry, and meals in hospitals is now being performed using Automatic Guided Vehicles. These vehicles are on call 24/7 and are laser guided to deliver on schedule. Major supermarkets are looking for more secure ways of handling their money and how many times their money is touched from transition to bank. Traditionally it’s 5 times and we have developed technology to reduce that to 1.
Can you tell us about your career and how it led to Lamson Concepts?
I have been self-employed for 23 years and joining Lamson was a challenge. The company has experienced enormous market growth throughout Australia and the world. My expertise was seen to be an advantage to Lamson as my skill set complimented their management structure.
What would be the highlights of your career to date?
There have been too many highlights to mention….I strive for continual improvements in operations and am very results driven….. so seeing an increase in business of over 120% this financial year, was an outstanding achievement for our team here in Adelaide.
If you could change one thing about doing business in SA, what would it be?
I would like to see a better opportunity to network our business with other businesses, as I see Adelaide as a very unique market place to do business. It’s my view Adelaide businesses are savvier than other states due to our market being more difficult to penetrate. We work very hard for our business and due to the size of our market, our challenge remains maintaining that business. Our sales philosophy is relationship based marketing and we continually strive to exceed client expectations.
