Nigel McBride

Chief Executive Officer
Business SA CEO Nigel McBrideNigel is a board member of Return to Work SA and the National Business Action Fund as well as a State Councillor for the Committee for Economic Development (CEDA). 

Nigel was the immediate past Chief Executive and Managing Partner of Minter Ellison, one of South Australia’s leading professional services firms for 12 years.

Nigel is also a past Chairman of 'Advantage Adelaide' (formerly ‘SA Great’, now ‘Brand South Australia’) and was a board member for a total of 8 years.

He has operated at top levels of business and government and often provides input to other CEOs on key strategic issues. He is a sought after speaker on business strategy, leadership and risk management.

Before private practice and leadership roles in Minter Ellison in Perth, Adelaide & Darwin, Nigel was the Director, Legal Administration of the Health Department Western Australia, managing a large team with a wide range of responsibilities - from running the State's largest legislative development program to dealing with legal, policy, compliance, industrial relations and risk issues across one of the State's biggest and most complex industries.

Earlier in his career he worked in the finance and industrial relations sectors.
 

Jenny Briggs

Executive Director; Employer Solutions and Programs
Business SA Executive Director Employer Solutions and Programs Jenny BriggsJenny has worked in learning and development for the last 20 years in a variety of roles and industries.

Jenny has comprehensive knowledge of learning methodology, performance management and competency frameworks, leadership development initiatives, and development and execution of employer and industry specific training programs.

Her experience includes management of a broad range of environments including private training organisations and also job network and disability training organisations.

Her experience includes scoping, creation, roll out and success of multiple employer specific and public learning programs. With a great understanding of instructional design principles, past projects include the creation of dynamic leadership programs, employer specific training programs and alignment of training to performance management frameworks.

A keen advocate for a better skilled South Australia and a passion for working with business and industry to enable their success in the development of effective and innovative training and assessment programs and strategies. A huge fan of action and experiential learning, behavioural change programs and use of competency frameworks to support workforce development. 
 

Nick Condon 

Executive Director; Brand and Innovation
Business SA Executive Director Brand and Innovation Nick CondonNick is an experienced senior executive with almost 20 years’ in the media, communication and technology sectors managing and developing high profile digital assets and leading the digital transformation of traditional businesses.

Nick has a passion for South Australia, and supporting the growth of SA’s start-up and entrepreneurial economy whilst assisting established businesses to navigate disruptive growth opportunities.

As part of the Business SA Executive Leadership Team, Nick is responsible for setting the South Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry's strategic and operational vision, with specific responsibility for the innovation, enterprise technology, brand and communications strategies.

Nick actively engages with government, education & industry to provide the thought leadership and insight required to ensure South Australian businesses are equipped with the technologies, education and platforms needed to succeed in a digital world.
 

Steven Moore

Executive Director; Operations and Finance
Business SA Executive Director Operations and Finance Steven MooreSteve joined Business SA in November 2015 in the newly created Executive Director role, overseeing Operations and Finance.

Born, raised and educated in Adelaide, Steve is a Chartered Accountant, and a former fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.

As a partner of the accounting and business advisory firm Accru Harris Orchard, Steve worked with over 200 businesses providing a broad range of accounting, taxation and business advisory services. After 26 years in the accounting public practice environment, with the last 12 as an equity principal, he made the decision to change direction and transfer his broad range of financial management skills and business experience into the commerce sector.

After a short stint as Commercial Manager at Longridge Group (Sarah Homes), Steve moved into the CEO role of the Glenelg Football Club. This was a perfect coming together of Steve’s professional skills and experience and his passion for sport. He held this role for 2 years, in which time the club significantly improved its financial performance and its place in the local community. 
 

Anthony Penney

Executive Director; Industry and Government Engagement 
Business SA Executive Director Industry and Government Engagement Anthony PenneyBefore taking up the role as Executive Director, Industry and Government Engagement, Anthony was Regional Manager South Australia for Qantas, responsible for all commercial activity in the state, as well as, government and tourism relations. Through developing and leveraging relationships at senior levels across corporate, industry and government he maintained Qantas’ market and revenue position whilst managing the Qantas SA team through one of the most turbulent times in Qantas’ history.

Prior to moving to South Australia Anthony held a number of management roles within Qantas in Sydney across commercial, customer experience, operational and learning & development areas. 

Anthony has a Masters of International Business and has lectured in Management, Organisational Behaviour and Business Communication at universities in Perth and Sydney.

Originally from Eastern Canada, he has lived and worked throughout Canada, Europe and Asia.

The role of Executive Director, Industry and Government Engagement incorporates all of the international business activities of Business SA (including export documentation, advice and support, as well as, trade missions), leading the policy and research team and working closely with the Chief Executive to closely engage with all levels of Local, State and Federal governments, as well as, the South Australian corporate community.  
 

Paul Shaw

Executive Director; Membership Engagement
Business SA Executive Director Membership Engagement Paul ShawPaul brings to Business SA over 20 years of extensive Sales and Marketing experience obtained through senior roles held in the UK and Australia, culminating in his move to Adelaide as Director of Sales and Marketing at the InterContinental Adelaide.

Now, as a proud adopted South Australian, Paul is delighted to be able to assist South Australian businesses achieve – and exceed – their goals.

As part of Business SA’s Executive Leadership Team, Paul, along with his team, is responsible for ensuring the ongoing engagement of all Members and planning and executing strategies for future membership value development.

Paul has served on the advisory board for the 2015 Australian Masters Games and is currently on the Boards of the Aboriginal Business and Industry Chamber of Commerce SA and Raising Literacy Australia.
