Adelaide tech success brings back the chat at the Royal Adelaide Show.

Following its two-year hiatus, the 2022 Royal Adelaide Show will play host to a unique innovation created right here in South Australia.

Over two years in the making and with the backing of local business owners, husband and wife team Richard and Siobhan Miller are about to bring back the chat’ with the second phase launch of poddiy; the convenient, affordable and fun way to record professional sounding podcasts, host interviews or simply tell your story at a fraction of the cost of a studio.

Founder and creator, Richard Miller said Our vision has always been to make podcasting fun, affordable and easy for anyone with a story, anywhere in the world.

You don’t have to be a seasoned podcaster to use poddiy; in fact, one of our biggest learnings from the phase one test launch at Adelaide Fringe this year was that poddiy is for everyone.

Storytellers, interviewers and podcasters love poddiy because it provides a fun yet safe environment to have intimate conversations and immerse yourself in the here and now”.

poddiy comprises two acoustically padded retro moon chairs and a console fitted with professional RODE recording equipment.

Events and Partnerships Manager, Siobhan Miller said, Podcasting is one of the most popular platforms to educate, entertain and communicate all around the world.

We wanted to simplify the process without compromising sound quality, giving South Australians a fun and affordable way to easily make podcasts and tell their stories.

When we launched earlier this year, we were astounded at the response, not just from seasoned podcasters, but from members of the public who took the opportunity to bring back the chat.

So, whilst staying true to our brand and its pillars, we modified some of the equipment and adapted our go to market approach to reflect the strong feedback we received from our test market customers”.

Now in its go to market’ phase, Richard and Siobhan are focussed on expressions of interest from host venues for poddiy following the Royal Show, using its presence at the Jubilee Pavilion to further grow its public following and brand.

There’s an exciting opportunity for three main markets: Hotels/functions, shopping centres and the education sector, Richard explained.

We are now accepting expressions of interest from soon to be world first poddiy venues following the show. In addition, we are considering major investor EOIs to assist with its national and international expansion”.

You will find poddiy at Jubilee Pavilion from this Saturday until the end of the show on Sunday 11 September.
