Annual Wage Review 2023 – What you need to know

Elisa Luck
Thursday, June 1st 2023

The Fair Work Commission has announced it will hand down its Annual Wage Review decision on Friday 2 June 2023. This decision will apply to all private-sector businesses (i.e. national system employers).

Following Friday’s decision, we will communicate this decision to you, as it will result in an increase to the national minimum wage and to minimum rates of pay in Modern Awards

It can be a minefield working through Fair Work Commission decisions and how they may impact your business.

The annual wage increase decision impacts all employers and you need to ensure you apply the increase not only to adult wages but also recognises that the increases flow on proportionately to junior employees, employees to whom training arrangements apply, employees with a disability and employees with basic piece rates of pay.
