The South Australian Business Chamber Corporate Member Shop Local SA has teamed up with the re-established Brand SA to support River Murray businesses this Christmas.

Their timely initiative is designed to bring businesses from the Riverland and Murraylands together on one online marketplace to help them keep trading through the horrific floods the region is facing.

By visiting spendyoursupport.sa.gov.au you can buy local wine, beverages and produce, or purchase gift vouchers through the Murray River Regions page on Shop Local SA.

In a region home to an incredible array of products and experiences, there’s no better place to gift shop this Christmas, knowing you’ll be supporting small businesses in desperate need.

Speaking to Amanda Bridge of Shop Local SA, she expressed her deep desire to give a helping hand to flood-affected businesses this year.

My husband, and co-founder of Shop Local SA, Michael grew up in Glossop, so the Riverland area holds a very special place in our hearts”,

We visited the region last weekend, and what they are facing is devastating for so many businesses, but I was blown away by their resilience and positive attitude,” Amanda said.

It’s important to note that not all Riverland businesses are directly impacted by the floods. In recent conversations with River-based members of the South Australian Business Chamber, many have expressed their encouragement for people to still visit these holidays in a safe and informed way.

Shop Local SA and Brand SA are inviting businesses in the Riverland and Murraylands to join the Spend Your Support initiative, with all associated setup costs and onboarding fees funded by Brand SA, with Shop Local SA waiving any site fees and commission until 10 March 2023.

We know South Australians really rally together and get behind their communities in times of need. This is an opportunity for South Australians to support flood-affected businesses in a very meaningful and simple way before Christmas”.
