I have had to employ 3 new people due to the growth we have had”… That’s the type of feedback we have been receiving from participants of the Small Business Fundmentals Program.

In 2023 the South Australian Business Chamber facilitated an exciting new initiative — the Small Business Fundamentals Program as part of the State Government’s South Australia’s Small Business Strategy 2023 – 2030’.

The Small Business Fundamentals Program is an opportunity for small business owners to build fundamental knowledge, capability and confidence in areas critical to long-term business growth and sustainability.

The 6‑month program is designed for established business owners looking to take their business and their knowledge to the next level.

Over the past 6‑months 19 South Australian businesses, from different industries, have undertaken the journey of attending the workshops and accessing their mentors.

The program has seen a diverse number of businesses and business owners as its first participants, from an electrician and a software developer to a recruitment agency and a manufacturer.

The South Australian Business Chamber has received some fantastic feedback from our first group of participants further highlighting that the program resonates with business owners no matter the industry.

Some of the feedback we have received from participants include:

  • This course is exactly what I needed”
  • The best part of the program so far has been the development of a sales strategy. I now know how to build a stepped-out approach to sales, that is measurable and repeatable”
  • I have doubled my revenue in 3 months”
  • I have had to employ 3 new people due to the growth we have had”
  • Lots of tips and tricks throughout while also getting benefit from others sharing their examples, strategies and things to work on. A great session with a good balance of interaction, info, strategy, implementation and goal setting. A lot of great information to remind us and check in with what we are doing.”

The South Australian Business Chamber is excited to continue facilitating this initiative in 2024 with a February in-take about to commence followed by an April in-take later in the year.

For interested Business owners, the program is broken down in to 6 workshops covering the following topics:

  • Business Modelling
  • Sales Strategies
  • Business Strategies for Growth
  • Marketing and Digital Strategies
  • People Strategies
  • Customer Experience Strategy

The Business Fundamentals Program has been developed in collaboration with the South Australian Business Chamber facilitators and Business experts that combined to create a powerful program that can help transform a business to capitalise on growth opportunities.

It combines over 100+ years of business knowledge that is transferable to participants that want to take their business to another level while also offering participants access to mentors with various skillsets.

If you’re a business owner ready to take their business to the next level, applications for the April intake of the program can be found here.
