The Salt Industry Award 2020 applies to employers throughout Australia who are engaged in the salt industry in respect of work by their employees listed in the classifications, to the exclusion of any other Modern Award.
Salt industry means:
The producing, gathering, extracting, harvesting, storing, distributing, packaging, manufacturing, treating, refining, brine handling, processing and transporting, shipping and conveying of salt and incidental related work by employees of the employer;
The servicing, maintaining (including mechanical, electrical, fabricating or engineering) or repairing of plant and equipment or camp facilities used in the activities set out in the award by employees employed by employers principally engaged in the salt industry; and
The provision of temporary labour services used in the activities set out in the award), by temporary labour personnel principally engaged to perform work at a location where the activities described in the award are being performed
