As a small business mentor and executive coach, Graeme Alder
has been giving back to entrepreneurs in the South Australian Youth Entrepreneur Scheme
programs starting their journey for the past 15 years. Always generous with his time, Graeme has featured as a guest speaker at Business SA events, and always has time and good advice to offer.
For his long-standing efforts, Graeme has this year been announced as our Mentor of the Year. It’s no surprise either, given Graeme has had more than five SAYES and Encore participants to mentor over the past year.
Graeme makes himself available to help with interviews for new applicants and at our Business Plan feedback nights. In recent times, Graeme has also been instrumental in giving his time and expert advice in streamlining the business plan guide for the SAYES and Encore programs.
As a business mentor, he helps build stability and vision by focusing on his six pillars: products, marketing, customers, systems, people and profit.
He also believes in focusing on the things that matter, striving for simplicity and keeping customers more than satisfied. Of the several hundred managers and executives Graeme has coached, he says the great ones know how to be a leader, have a vision and a plan, regularly generate ideas and are skilled in finance, selling, presentation, problem solving, negotiation and communication. Graeme’s executive coaching program, known as Executives G2G (Good to Great), develops these attributes and skills.
